How long does the transfer take?
Most mobile numbers move across within a few hours on a business day. Transfers requested late in the day or on weekends complete the next business day.
Will my phone stop working during the switch?
You might see a few minutes without service while the networks hand your number over. Calls, texts and data all resume automatically on your Shift SIM.
Do I need to tell my current provider?
No — and please don't cancel with them first. Once your number transfers, your old service is closed automatically. If you're in a contract, your old provider may charge their usual exit fees.
Can I keep my number if it's on a business or prepaid account?
Yes. Prepaid, postpaid and business numbers can all transfer — you just need to be the authorised account holder and able to receive our verification text.
